Is it safe to freeze Vaalia My First yoghurt? If so for how long and what’s the best way to thaw them?
Yes, Vaalia My First Yoghurt can be safely frozen for up to 3 months from best before date. Thaw in the fridge. All dairy products including yoghurt should always be stored below 4oC. Check your fridge from time to time to make sure it is running at 4oC or less.
I was told that the cultures in the yoghurt would spoil if left out of the fridge for too long - how long can I let the yoghurt sit in room temperature?
It is best to keep the yoghurt at below 4° C. The probiotic cultures are susceptible to temperature changes but Vaalia adds extra probiotic cultures to account for mistreatment. Unlike most other yoghurts, we state the quantity of good bacteria on the label of our products as well.
I noticed this morning it states on the carton of the Vaalia Lactose Free Yoghurt that it "contains milk." As milk contains lactose can you please explain how this is lactose free?

All Vaalia products – including Vaalia Low Fat yoghurt with Omega-3 – are gluten free. They are also low fat, low GI and contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
I can only eat halal products and noticed Vaalia contains gelatine. Is the gelatine halal?

Can you please tell me the amount or dose of LGG in Vaalia Yoghurt?
Each 100 grams of Vaalia Yoghurt contains a minimum of 100,000,000 colony forming units of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG or LGG. This means that there is enough of the culture to survive the digestive tract and naturally maintain and regulate the digestive system.
Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG or LGG® is a strain of L. rhamnosus that was discovered by Sherwood Gorbach and Barry Goldin in 1983. According to Gorbach and Goldin's research, LGG® tolerates the acid conditions in the stomach, the bile acids in the small intestine, colonizes the digestive tract and balances the bacteria in the digestive system.
Vaalia yoghurt, available in low fat, lactose free and full-cream (for children) in a variety of flavours is the only food source of LGG® currently available in Australia.
