Vaalia Yoghurt announces three-year partnership with Murdoch Childrens Research Institute

Australia’s favourite top health yoghurt Vaalia, is excited to announce a three-year partnership with Murdoch Childrens Research Institute, Australia’s leading children’s research organisation.

Vaalia will contribute a minimum of $450,000 over the three-year partnership to support life-saving child health research at the Murdoch Childrens.

Vaalia Marketing Manager, Michael Goodhew said the partnership with Murdoch Childrens is ideal because Vaalia has always been about promoting health and well-being.

“Knowing that we’re helping to fund important research to provide kids with happier and healthier futures makes us feel good inside.”

“Aside from being deliciously good yoghurt, Vaalia has been helping Australians feel better on the inside for nearly 15 years, and for us to help the MCRI in their health research is the natural extension of our aims.”

“Murdoch Childrens is also very interested in examining the benefits of the LGG® probiotic culture, which is unique to Vaalia yoghurts, so there are synergies there as well,” Mr Goodhew said.

In addition, Vaalia will also promote the Murdoch Childrens brand on Vaalia yoghurt packs sold in Australia.

Murdoch Childrens Director, Professor Terry Dwyer AO MD MPH, said “Murdoch Childrens is excited to form a partnership with Vaalia - a brand that shares our goal of improving the health and wellbeing of Australian children and their families,”

“As governments and other grant making bodies tend to support established research, support from Vaalia is vital to providing the seed funding we need to bring bold, daring and innovative research ideas to life.”

“Vaalia’s significant and long term partnership will make a very real difference to our ability to make discoveries to improve the health and happiness of Australian children.”

To kick off the partnership Vaalia has built a Facebook application called “Smile Tiles” where fans of Vaalia can add a smiley photo to the Smile Tile wall, and for every smile added, Vaalia will give $3 to the institute. They aim to get 50,000 Smile Tiles and build a wall of happiness. (www.facebook.com/vaalia).

Murdoch Childrens was established with seed funding from its Patron Dame Elisabeth Murdoch, and others in 1986, and since establishment has gone on to make many ground-breaking discoveries of international significance.
