Vaalia Innergy wins at International Dairy Federation Awards

Australia’s favourite top-health yoghurt brand Vaalia has won the prestigious ‘Best new functional dairy product’ award for its probiotic drink Vaalia Innergy at the International Dairy Federation Dairy Innovation Awards.

The 2011 awards held at the IDF World Dairy Summit in Parma, Italy, drew more than 100 entries from 25 countries. Winners were selected by a panel of 10 dairy industry experts. For further information on the IDF and other award winners please visit FoodBev.

Vaalia Innergy is a probiotic drink that launched in late 2010 containing a unique trio of probiotic cultures, Acidophilus, Bifidus and Lactobacillus GG (LGG^®) that help strengthen the body’s natural immune defences.  Vaalia Innergy provides 10 times the LGG^® level of regular Vaalia yoghurts, as this probiotic is particularly beneficial for immune defences.

Prior to Vaalia Innergy’s launch, the probiotic drinking yoghurt category in Australia was in its infancy. The main offerings were products almost entirely focussed on digestive health.

“Australian manufacturers had not invested in this category. We delivered a product that combined benefits of improved digestive health and improved immunity.” Mr Waugh said.

LGG^® is the world’s most scientifically researched probiotic culture. LGG^® helps maintain a healthy digestive system, which in turn supports a healthy immune system. Vaalia products are the only food source of LGG^® available in Australia.
